Our three Church Services are on Sunday mornings at 9:00 am, 10:30 am and 12:00 noon.
We have many ways to develop the family of Solid Rock: 50’s plus, Women’s Bible Study, Tiny Groups, Transformed “Youth”, Amen’s Mens Fellowship, guys night out, girls night out, discipleship courses, drama team, prayer chain, choir, etc…
Besides our Sunday Morning services, Pastor Miller encourages everyone to “get involved” in another area listed above. We should constantly be growing and feeding ourselves the Word of God (especially with our church family), while never neglecting the habit of spending time with our immediate family.
Each area of ministry that Solid Rock offers, is for the family of Solid Rock or people who don’t attend church anywhere.
How did we get started?
John-Paul spent his teenage years playing the piano in churches as well as night clubs. He thought “Church was for fake people who were different behind closed doors.” But when he met his wife, everything changed. God used Alison to be the light that led him to Christ.
John-Paul and Alison Miller have been involved in the music departments of churches all across the grand strand ever since they married in 2000. After several years of working in Methodist, Episcopal, Baptist, Catholic, Church of God, Pentecostal, and Charismatic churches, God spoke to their heart about starting Solid Rock Ministries in 2006. The last thing John-Paul ever wanted to do was to be a Pastor, but God had a different plan. On Mother’s day of 2006, at the Socastee Library, Solid Rock had its first service.
After they out grew the Library they moved to a converted warehouse on Forestbrook Road in 2007. After outgrowing that storefront building, Solid Rock moved to a larger building down Forestbrook road from 2010-2012. “God is an amazing God. He has done more than we’ve ever dreamed in the first 5 years of Solid Rock. I would’ve been happy if God had taken us this far in 20 yrs. I never realized how much God loved me, until I learned to put my total and complete trust in Him; my family, thought life, finances, etc…it all belongs to God.”
Now, we are at a whole new level in our church. We have possessed our final piece of land and we have purchased and renovated our new 1956 chapel on the former MB Air Base near the Market Common area.
Our first services in our NEW building near Market Commons was the first Sunday in Jan. 2013. The address of the Air Base Chapel is 803 Howard Avenue. Join us any Sunday at 9:00, 10:30am or 12 noon In Our New Home.
If you are in need of ANYTHING, please come to Solid Rock and allow us to present you with love, wisdom, and security in God’s Holy Word so that the relationship you develop with Christ will be the answer to every need you have and will ever have.
